Industrial ground creates plumbing problems

Eccles and Patricroft grew around heavy engineering, and large parts of the area sit on made ground left behind by works, sidings and yards that closed decades ago. Made ground settles unevenly over time, and buried drainage settles with it.

How we get to you

Eccles centre, Patricroft and Peel Green are reached in minutes from junctions 2 and 3 of the M602. Barton and Winton come off the A57 Liverpool Road. Monton we approach from Monton Road and the A576. The M602 is the fastest route into the area at almost every hour, which is one reason our response times into Eccles are among the better ones on our patch.

Shut off the internal stopcock. In Eccles terraces it is commonly at the cellar head or under the kitchen sink. If a cellar is taking water, do not go down while the electricity is still on, and do not attempt to pump it out yourself if you cannot see where the water is entering.
